Well mark this one in the book. After months of enduring the street construction (which did give us a new main sewage line), dust and bumpy roads, they re-paved the street today. I'm not sure if another paving is needed on top of this one, but so far it looks good. Let's hope it holds up.

Yes, our beloved "Sistas' Place" on the block is moving later this summer. Don't worry though, they won't be far. They are relocating about 100 yards east to the corner retail spot that's been boarded up forever on NOSTRAND and JEFFERSON. Check out the weblink for their moving & fish fry sale on June 20, 2009. www.sistasplace.org. Come out and show your love and support for this staple in our community. There might even be more free "stroll by" jazz to listen too.
Some residents have received violations from the city for faulty or "trip hazard" sidewalks in from of their houses. If anyone's has received notice of violation from the city on their sidewalk, please email block association (see contact).
The apartment development on the corner of Bedford & Jefferson will be completed the end of June 2009. 1, 2 & 3 bedroom apartments still available.

By now, you're probably wondering when they will repair the street since this winters major construction street repair. If you didn't know, a new main sewage pipe was installed by DEP, hopefully correcting all the sink holes that have plagued our street for so long. Block President, Tiffany Murchinson assures us that the re-paving of street and sidewalks will take place this summer. Now, if can we have them clean sweep the entire block from all the debris and dust they left behind.
